₹1,000 per month skill devpt allowance for Himachal youth employed in pvt sector

SHIMLA : The Himachal Pradesh cabinet in a meeting held on Monday approved ₹1,000 per month skill developmen­t allowance to youth newly employed in private industries in the state.

In the meeting, which was chaired by chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, the cabinet decided that those with more than 50% disability will get ₹1,500 moth allowance under the scheme which will be applicable for all employees who get salary up to ₹15,000 per month in private

sector.

The cabinet also decided to launch Medha Protsahan Yojana to provide coaching facility to meritoriou­s students of Himachal Pradesh for competitiv­e examinatio­ns.

Under the scheme, financial assistance of ₹1 lakh or as per the actual, whichever is less, will be provided to those meritoriou­s students whose family income does not exceed ₹2.5 lakh per annum. The cabinet also decided to introduce Swathya Mein Sahbhagita Yojana in the state to ensure improved access to quality health care services in rural areas . Under the scheme, 25% capital subsidy up to investment of ₹1 crore in building, machinery and equipment will be provided to any individual, firm, company, trust or society to establish a private allopathic hospital in prescribed area as per establishe­d standards. It will also be provided 5% interest subsidy for three years on a maximum loan of ₹75 lakh. The cabinet also decided to allot 780 MW Jangi-Thopan-Powari Hydro Electric Project in Kinnaur. It also gave in-principle approval to designate honorary head constables and head constables completing 32 years of service as honorary assistant sub-inspectors.

Approval was also given to fill up 230 posts of post graduate teachers on contract basis through direct recruitmen­t.
