Employment bureaus opened in Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar districts
HOSHIARPUR: Punjab industries and commerce minister Sunder Sham Arora, on Wednesday inaugurated district bureau of employment and enterprises in the multi-skill development centre which has come up at a cost of ₹58.40 lakh.
The centre will provide career guidance, counselling, and impart entrepreneurial skills to unemployed youth, besides helping them find suitable jobs, Arora said.
He said the industry needed skilled workers and the skill development centres in the state were preparing right man-force for it.
He said under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme, loans worth ₹9.2 crore of 131 beneficiaries had been sanctioned in the district.
On the occasion, the minister handed over loan approval letters to seven applicants.
Earlier, at a function held in zila parishad, Arora honoured cleanest institutions selected during ‘My village, My Pride’ survey.
Lambra village bagged cash prize of ₹2 lakh for being the cleanest.
RELIEF FOR JOB-SEEKERS
JALANDHAR: Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary on Wednesday inaugurated the district bureau of employment and enterprise at the district administration complex here on Wednesday. “The bureau will serve as a single roof solution for job seekers and job givers in the district. The bureau has been set up at a cost of ₹50 lakh,” said Chaudhary.
Complementing CM Captain Amarinder Singh for taking this visionary initiative, he said it will go a long way in making youth active partners in the socio-economic growth of the state.
