ROHTAK : A 38-year-old man was allegedly strangulated to death on Friday night for stopping his friend from urinating on his house wall, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh Kumar, a labourer.

Suresh’s elder brother Mahaveer said his wife had passed away a week ago following which Suresh had come to his house in Kandela village.

On Friday night, Suresh was drinking outside their house with his two friends. “While they were drinking, Suresh’s friend Rajkumar tried to urinate on our house wall. However, Suresh stopped him from doing so and asked him to use a toilet. This triggered an argument between them,” said Mahabir.

He said as the altercation intensified, Rajkumar’s family members came out and started beating up Suresh.

“I also came out of my house after hearing the noise. I tried stopping them, but they continued thrashing my brother. So I went to call the sarpanch. When I came back, I saw Rajkumar and his family members strangulating my brother with a scarf,” he said.

Suresh was rushed to the hospital by his brother, where he was declared brought dead.

The police said that based on the complaint, they have registered a case of murder against Rajkumar, his son Charnu and three other family members.
