MAN BOOKED FOR RAPING , MOLESTING 17-YR-OLD GIRL

-

GURUGRAM: The police arrested a 29-year-old gym dietician on Saturday for allegedly repeatedly raping and threatening a 17-yearold girl at his apartment in Palam Vihar.

The incident came to light when the girl, a class 12 student, informed her mother about the assault on Friday after returning from school, the police said.

The accused had been working at a gym in the area for the last few years. “We arrested him on Saturday from a gym and he was produced before the court and was sent to 14-day judicial custody,” said Vikram Nehra, station house officer, Palam Vihar.

A case has been registered against him under sections 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Palam Vihar police station on Friday.

As per the police, the girl’s mother said that her daughter has known the accused for months and they were on friendly terms. However, one day, he offered her a lift while returning home and raped her, the police said.

“The victim told her mother that the accused started stalking her in March this year, forced her to get into his car and allegedly molested and raped her. When she resisted, he threatened her life,” said Nehra. He said the man took the victim repeatedly to his apartment and raped her.

The girl’s mother alleged that the accused also threatened to defame her on social media if she refused to meet him, police said.

“The victim had started staying quiet and stopped moving out of the house, apart from visiting school. She had switched off her phone. The accused, on November 26, again molested the girl inside his car,” said Nehra.
