A meeting of the AAP legislature party will be held next week to firm up the floor strategy. HARPAL SINGH CHEEMA, AAP leader
CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) core committee on Tuesday discussed its strategy for the three-day winter session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha starting from December 13.
Leader of opposition Harpal Singh Cheema said the party will raise growing unemployment, delay in loan waiver, injustice with sugarcane growers and cut in salary of contractual teachers in the state assembly. “A meeting of the AAP legislature party will be held next week to firm up the floor strategy,” he said after the core committee meeting. The legislature party meeting is likely on December 11.
Cheema has also written to speaker Rana KP Singh to extend the duration of the winter session to 15 days. He said the three-day session will not allow enough time for detailed discussion on all these burning issues.
The AAP core committee headed by Budhlada MLA Budhram also discussed the names of probable candidates for Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib and Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituencies. However, there was no decision and the matter will be taken up again in the next meeting. The party has already named its candidates for eight of the 13 parliamentary constituencies.
