25 Haryana men arrested for submitting fake documents
JALANDHAR: At least 25 persons belonging to Haryana were arrested on Wednesday for submitting fake documents during the ongoing army recruitment rally at Jalandhar Cantonment here.
A weeklong recruitment rally (December 2 to 8) is underway at the Army Public School ground for the posts of soldier general duty, soldier technical, soldier clerk, storekeepers, inventory management and sepoy pharma categories for the candidates belonging to Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur and SBS Nagar districts.
On the complaint of Col Roshan Verma, director recruiting officer, five separate first information reports (FIRs) have been registered under sections 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Jalandhar Cantonment police station. Each FIR has names of five accused persons.
The accused persons have been identified as Avtar Singh, Sandeep Singh, Manpreet Singh, Arun, Mohit, Gurvinder Singh, Manjeet Singh, Sajan Singh, Surendra Kumar, Manjit Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Gursant Singh, Vishanu, Sumit, Ravinder, Sandeep, Sonu Khan, Sanjiv Singh, Jitender Singh, Harbinder Singh, Gurpreet, Ravi Singh, Pardeep Singh, Satpal Singh and Vikas Singh, all natives of Haryana, who had submitted fake documents.
