SHIMLA : The Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla recorded coldest night of the season with minimum temperature dipping to 3.8° Celsius on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

However, Keylong, district headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, remained coldest in the state at -4.9° Celsius.

The meteorological department has depicted a further drop in the temperature over next few days. Temperature remained below the freezing point at most places in the state, an official of the Met department said, adding it is likely to snow in the higher reaches from December 10 to 12.

“Most high hills in Kullu, Chamba, Shimla, Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts are likely to experience snow on Thursday night,” the official added.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a low of -0.6° Celsius while the temperature was 1.2° Celsius in Kufri and 0.8° Celsius in Manali.
