Those who choose to live an honest life are there to guide us to the reality of life’s journey. They are there to remind us that life’s ultimate aim is to seek the truth, and that can happen only by being honest.

Honesty is an umbrella of all qualities of the head and heart. It is by being honest that you lead to explore the use of all other qualities for the betterment of mankind.

As a child, we used to be told to learn over and over again that honesty is the best policy. The idea behind this philosophy is that only honesty stands the test of truth and loyalty not only to yourself but towards others too.

The moment you deviate from the path of honesty, you turn insincere and become a liar. As a result, a lot of difficulties and trying times come your way. And life’s noble journey gets derailed.

As Shakespeare had said, “No legacy is as rich as honesty.” This is because honesty is the fountainhead of all that makes a human being truly human.

An honest person makes it a point to keep himself and others too in good humour. He cautions himself against siding with the devil waiting at the next turn to spoil our peace and happiness.

And to conclude, we have American jurist James E Faust saying, “Honesty is truth telling, truth speaking, truth living and truth loving.”
