Sidhu to get new office in Amritsar civic body complex
AMRITSAR: Punjab local government minister Navjot Singh Sidhu is all set to get a new office inside Amritsar Municipal Corporation (MC) complex.
The minister had earlier set up his camp office in Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) building in March 2017. However, as the minister rarely visited this office, it was shut down within few months.
Confirming the development, MC commissioner Sonali Giri said, “We have received orders to build an office for the local government minister, his representative and officer on special duty (OSD). Almost 70% of work has been completed. A total cost of ₹1.3 lakh has been spent on setting up the office.”
“We will hand over the new office to Navjot Sidhu in next 12 days”, said the commissioner .
Reacting to the developemnt, former local bodies minister Anil Joshi, said, “Setting up a new office is only a waste of money. This time, he should make proper schedule and visit office more often.”
