BJP’s HP unit steps up campaign with block-level workshops

DHARAMSHAL­A:Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is yet to declare candidates for the four parliament­ary constituen­cies in Himachal Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the party’s campaign is in the top gear.

After holding workshops for party officials at the parliament­ary constituen­cy, the BJP has been organising workshops in all the 68 blocks.

Workshops in Kullu and Sundernaga­r block of Mandi parliament­ary segment was held on Saturday while a similar exercise was conducted in Sarkaghat and Balh in Mandi constituen­cy, Gagret and Haroli in Hamirpur and Indora in Kangra parliament­ary constituen­cy, respective­ly, on the next day.

The party on Sunday released the schedule for the workshops in the remaining assembly segments in the state, to be held within a week.

BJP state general secretary and convener of party’s election management committee, Chandermoh­an Sharma said chief minister Jai Ram Thakur and ministers Govind Thakur, Anil Sharma and Ram Lal Markanda will be present at the workshops in Mandi parliament­ary constituen­cy. State general secretary (organisati­on) Pawan Rana and minister Rajiv Saizal and other leaders of the concerned blocks will be presents during the workshops in Shimla parliament­ary constituen­cy. Former CM Prem Kumar Dhumal, state BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti and minister Bikram Thakur and Virnder Kanwar is overseeing the organisati­on of the workshops in Hamirpur constituen­cy while sitting MP Shanta Kumar and minister Vipin Parmar, Kishan Kapoor and Sarveen Chaudhary have been assigned the duty in Kangra.
