BJP’s HP unit steps up campaign with block-level workshops
DHARAMSHALA:Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is yet to declare candidates for the four parliamentary constituencies in Himachal Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the party’s campaign is in the top gear.
After holding workshops for party officials at the parliamentary constituency, the BJP has been organising workshops in all the 68 blocks.
Workshops in Kullu and Sundernagar block of Mandi parliamentary segment was held on Saturday while a similar exercise was conducted in Sarkaghat and Balh in Mandi constituency, Gagret and Haroli in Hamirpur and Indora in Kangra parliamentary constituency, respectively, on the next day.
The party on Sunday released the schedule for the workshops in the remaining assembly segments in the state, to be held within a week.
BJP state general secretary and convener of party’s election management committee, Chandermohan Sharma said chief minister Jai Ram Thakur and ministers Govind Thakur, Anil Sharma and Ram Lal Markanda will be present at the workshops in Mandi parliamentary constituency. State general secretary (organisation) Pawan Rana and minister Rajiv Saizal and other leaders of the concerned blocks will be presents during the workshops in Shimla parliamentary constituency. Former CM Prem Kumar Dhumal, state BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti and minister Bikram Thakur and Virnder Kanwar is overseeing the organisation of the workshops in Hamirpur constituency while sitting MP Shanta Kumar and minister Vipin Parmar, Kishan Kapoor and Sarveen Chaudhary have been assigned the duty in Kangra.
