Pak jets do ops on its highways
ISLAMABAD : Fighter jets of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) have carried out landing and take-off exercises at various sections of the Lahore-Islamabad and the Islamabad-Peshawar motorway.
The exercise was conducted to demonstrate the capability of the air force to sustain high-tempo air operations, PAF said in a statement. The jets were refueled and re-armed after landing.
Officials said the drill was solely aimed at evaluating Pakistan’s preparedness during atypical circumstances.
Earlier, official announcements were made regarding the closure of airspace over the country’s northern belt and the M1 and M2 motorways at multiple points where the PAF military exercise was being conducted.
CHINA’S JETS TO JOIN PAK NATIONAL DAY
J-10 fighter jets of the Chinese Air Force’s Ba Yi Aerobatic Team arrived in Pakistan for a flight performance on March 23 during the Pakistan’s National Day.
The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force’s August 1st aerobatics team was invited to participate in a national day air show.
This is not the first time that the team has performed in Pakistan. On November 19 2017, the team staged an aerobatic flight with J-10 fighter jets in Quetta.
In addition to the J-10’s flight performance, Chinese analysts expect more Chinese elements at Pakistan Day parade as the country operates a variety of Chinese weapons.
The PAF’s main fighter jet, the JF-17, is co-developed by China and Pakistan, China Military Online reported.
The Pakistan Air Force also operates the ZDK-03 early warning aircraft, which is developed by China and is reportedly capable of aerial detection and sharing real time battlefield information.
A third and more advanced batch of the JF-17 fighter jet, the JF-17 Block 3, is currently under development and production, local media reported quoting China Aviation News.
