ROHTAK : Launching a scathing attack on the BJP government in Haryana, former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday said it burnt the state thrice in last five years.

While addressing a meeting of workers in Rohtak, he said the BJP was responsible for damaging social fabric and the Prakash Singh Committee, which inquired into the incidents of violence in Haryana, has proved the same.

“The BJP did not fulfil even a single promise from its list of 154. If voted to power, I will ensure that all promises made during the August-18 rally are fulfilled,” he added.

“During our government, Haryana was Number 1 in providing jobs to youths, elevating sportspersons to international level and keeping the farmers happy with our policies. But now, Haryana is Number 1 in crime rate and unemployment,” Hooda said.

The leader of opposition also hit out at the government on the newly imposed Motor Vehicle Act and said, “Roads of this country are poor as Pakistan, but the government has imposed fine of America.”

Former Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda accused Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his cabinet ministers of indulging in corruption.

“Even the Supreme Court has accepted that Khattar and his subordinates were indulged in corruption,” he added.

“BJP ministers have looted the state for five years through their involvement in mining, transport and other scams,” he further said.

Deepender alleged that the BJP had defeated him in the 2019 parliamentary elections by cheating. “Everyone knows the BJP defeated me in the Lok Sabha polls by practising unfair means. Now the people will take revenge from them. Ab 75 paar nahi chalega, Ab BJP Haryana se bahar hogi (Now BJP’s Mission 75 won’t work. Now the BJP will be ousted from Haryana),” he added.

“I had polled more votes than the total votes garnered by 10 candidates each of the INLD and its splinter outfit the Jannayak Janta Party, both of which were rejected by people,” the former MP said.

“Rohtak belongs neither to Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor home minister Amit Shah, but to us,” Deepender said.
