This constituen­cy has suffered a lot in the past due to lack of developmen­t and being away from the political centre. However, I have tried to develop this area by improving education, water and power infrastruc­ture.

He entered politics as a student leader and was twice elected as the president of Hodal govt college. He fought elections for the first time in ’09, but lost. In 2014, he contested and won. He recently joined the BJP.

Constituen­cy primer: Hathin assembly segment in Palwal district is a part of Faridabad parliament­ary constituen­cy. It abuts the Meo-Muslim dominated constituen­cies of Punhana, Ferozepur Jhirka and Nuh in Mewat region. The constituen­cy has a dominant Meo-Muslim vote bank followed by Jats, Scheduled Castes and Brahmins.

Electoral history:

2014: INLD Kehar Singh defeated BJP’s Harsh Kumar by 6,372 votes. 2009: Independen­t Jaleb Khan defeated Cong’s Harsh by 6,473 votes. 2005: Independen­t Harsh Kumar defeated Cong’s Jaleb Khan by 8,830 votes.
