Interacting with mediapersons, Khattar said he has received immense love and affection from the people of Karnal. “I have filed my nomination and am here to seek blessings of the people of Karnal with the hope to win the seat by a big margin,” he said.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said the people of Haryana are eager to re-elect the BJP government in the state. “People of Haryana are happy with the performance of the chief minister and I am confident that the BJP will easily achieve its target of 75-plus seats in Haryana,” he said. Earlier, Khattar, along with several party leaders from Haryana and BJP’s Haryana election in-charge Narendra Singh Tomar, also addressed a gathering of BJP workers.

RAJPUT COMMUNITY’S ANTI-BJP STAND

Accusing the ruling BJP of ignoring them in allotment of party tickets, members of Rajput community on Tuesday held a meeting in Karnal and decided to oppose the BJP in this election.

They claimed that the Rajput community had voted for the BJP in assembly and Lok Sabha elections but the BJP ignored them by not giving even a single ticket. “We have decided to oppose BJP candidates to teach them a lesson,” said Col Davinder Singh (retd), state president of Haryana Rajput Pratinidhi Sabha. They also threatened to field independent candidates in Rajput-dominated seats.
