Digital detox is difficult during lockdown, says Bhumi
Many celebs are on a digital detox amid the lockdown, but actor Bhumi Pednekar is hooked to social media like never before. From showcasing her culinary skills to gardening and workout pictures, Pednekar is on a roll, but conscious “to not overdo it on social media”.
“Digital detox is very difficult at this time, as social media is the only window to stay in touch with fans during the lockdown. I’m pretty much hooked to Instagram and Twitter. I’m reconnecting with people, sharing interesting aspects of my life with my followers. I don’t plan what and when I’m going to post. I just do it when I feel like,” Pednekar shares, adding she goes into complete digital detox mode only when shooting for a film. “Especially in the last few years, the films I took up were very challenging. To get into the skin of the character, I had to disconnect myself from all kinds of distraction,” she says.
During the lockdown, Pednekar, 30, is trying her hand at cooking, using fresh veggies from her organic garden and is indulging in activities that make her happy. “Cooking is so much fun and I love the fact that we use our home-grown veggies. I’m putting out one video or picture daily about my dishes. I’ve got back to reading after four-five years. I’m reorganising my life and developing more sustainable ways of living at home. I didn’t get the chance to do all this while I was working. When everything opens up, it’s going to be madness and I’ll not have much time to do all this,” she says. The actor admits that she is uncertain about when she is going to get back to work. “It (Covid-19) has put a question mark on when we will get back to work and how things are going to be like. There is a lot of uncertainty. Actors’ dates have gone haywire and we can’t plan anything,” adds Pednekar, who finished shooting for Durgavati before the lockdown but Badhaai Do and Takht have been put on hold.
