THREE-STAGE STRATEGY
All activities prohibited earlier will be opened in areas outside containment zones in a phased manner, the government has said
PHASE 1
Religious places, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls to open from June 8. Health ministry to issue guidelines for resumption of these activities
PHASE 2
Educational institutes including schools and colleges will open after consultations with states/UTs, who can discuss the matter with parents and other stakeholders A decision will be taken in July
PHASE 3
International air travel, Metro rail services, cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools, bars, entertainment parks, and auditoriums are still banned across the country Large congregations including social, political, religious, and sporting events too are prohibited
Govt says a call will be taken on restarting these activities after an assessment. No date has been given International passenger flights will remain suspended till June 30, DGCA said. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation tweeted services will remain closed for commuters until further notice
NIGHT CURFEW
Instead of 7pm-7am, the night curfew for non-essential activities will now be in force for a shorter duration of eight hours
CONTAINMENT ZONES
Till June 30, the lockdown will continue in containment zones — to be identified by districts as per central guidelines
Only essential activities will be allowed in these areas. Strict perimeter control will ensure no movement of people in or out of these zones, except for medical emergencies and essential supplies States/UTs can identify buffer zones, which are adjoining areas, and impose curbs
States/UTs may prohibit certain activities outside containment zones based on their assessment, but they are not allowed to dilute the central guidelines
