Woman, two kids test positive in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH :Three new Covid-19 cases from Ram Darbar took the UT tally to 423 on Thursday.

Those found infected include a 32-year-old woman, a seven-yearold boy and a four-year-old girl. Officials said all three were family contacts of a positive patient.

Meanwhile, seven persons were discharged from the Covid care centres on Thursday. With 329 recoveries, the city now has 88 active cases. Six people have succumbed to the virus.Among those discharged are five people from Sector 25 and one each from Sector 26 and Ram Darbar.

SEVEN CASES IN MOHALI

MOHALI : The Covid-19 cases in Mohali rose to 236 on Thursday with seven new patients.

These include two males aged, 51 and 31, and a 21-year-old woman, all residents of Baltana, Zirakpur. Mohali civil surgeon Dr Manjit Singh said all three patients were contacts of positive patients from Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26, Chandigarh.

Besides, a 40-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from Zirakpur, a 65-year-old man from Dera Bassi and a 50-year-old woman from Dafarpur were also confirmed infected. The Zirakpur and Dera Bassi men are contacts of positive patients, while the 30-year-old woman recently returned from Canada. The Dafarpur woman reported to hospital with influenza-like illness.

Seven more patients were discharged from the hospital on Thursday after recovering from Covid-19. They are all residents of Dera Bassi sub-division. Of the 236 confirmed cases in Mohali, 178 have recovered and three have died. There are now 55 active cases.
