WOMEN THRASH COP IN KANGRA

DHARAMSHALA: Women of Luciad village in Dada Siba area of Kangra on Friday thrashed assistant sub-inspector Charanji Lal, the police post in-charge of the area. The women suspected that the police were trying to hush up a murder case to save the accused. Surjeet Kumar, 35, was found dead in his house under mysterious circumstances on Thursday. His family members suspected murder by his wife. However, the police had initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC and sent the body for postmortem. The body was handed over to the kin on Friday morning.
