High cases, but low fatality rate

In terms of total cases, Tamil Nadu is the state that is second worst-hit by Covid in the country. However, the southern state has fared relatively better in terms of total deaths. The state is on the fourth spot in total number of deaths with a case fatality rate (CFR) of 1.3% — significan­tly above the national average of 2.9%.
