Haryana records 128 new cases, 1 death

CHANDIGARH: Haryana on Sunday reported one fatality linked to Covid, bringing the death toll to 3,010, while 128 fresh cases pushed the state’s infection tally to 2,67,203, according to a government bulletin.

According to the state health department’s daily bulletin, the new fatality was reported from Karnal district.

Gurugram (39) and Faridabad (22) were among other districts which recorded new cases of the novel coronaviru­s, the bulletin said.

The number of active cases in the state stands at 1,511, while 2,62,682 people have so far been discharged after recovering from the infection in Haryana. The state has a Covid recovery rate of 98.31%, according to the bulletin.

In terms of vaccinatio­n, of 1,200 private sector healthcare workers, targeted for the Covid-19 vaccinatio­n drive in Gurugram on Sunday, only 660 were inoculated at the 26 sessions sites in the district.

This indicates coverage of 55%, the lowest since the vaccine roll-out began on January 16. Health department officials said they are confident of a more successful drive on Monday,

73 Covid cases in J&K, 21 infections logged in HP

Srinagar/Dharamshal­a: J&K recorded 73 fresh coronaviru­s infections taking the total case count in the UT to 1,24,019 while the death toll stood at 1,929 with no fatalities on Sunday.

Officials said 42 people tested positive in Kashmir and 31 in Jammu.

As per them, 1,20,987 people have recovered in the UT so far after 73 patients were discharged, taking the recovery rate to 97.55%. There are now 1,103 active cases.

Himachal reported 21 new Covid-19 infections, taking the state’s tally to 57,210 while death toll mounted to 961 after two more patients died.

Of the new cases, eight were reported in Shimla, six in Kangra, four in Solan, two in Chamba, and one in Kullu.

Meanwhile, 52 more people recovered, bringing down the active cases to 436, while the recoveries reached 55,797. The recovery rate is 97.5%, while the case fatality ratio is 1.6%
