JAIPUR/BIKANER: The initial probe into the murder of four people during a gang war in Churu on Friday evening revealed that gangster Sampat Nehra wanted to avenge the killing of his aide Anil Dhani Kehar, who was shot dead by police on the tip of rivals Ajay Jaitpura and Pradeeep Swami in 2015, said a police official.

“On June 25, 2015, Kehar was killed in an encounter by the police at Miran Chowk in Isharwal, Bhiwani. The Nehra gang believed that Ajay Jaitpura and Swami had helped the police. Therefore, Nehra killed Jaitpura on January 17, 2018 by firing indiscriminately in the court room of Rajgarh,” said a police official from Churu.

He added, “At the same time, Nehra wanted to kill Swami, but he ran away from the spot after a lawyer was shot. Swami had also registered a case on the murder of Ajay Jaitpura in Rajgarh police station and was currently running the gang of Ajay Jaitpura.” On Saturday, a day after four persons were killed in a gang war in Churu district, station house officer (SHO) Hamirwas Subhash Kumar was removed and sent to police line, said police. At least four people were killed in the gang war that took place between notorious

In retaliation, Pradeep Swami gang members killed a criminal from Sampat Nehra gang. “Those killed included two villagers who didn’t have any affiliation with a criminal gang. The gang war took place around 4pm on Friday after which heavy police force was deployed in the village,” said Togas.
