Hry cabinet exempts autos, taxis in NCR of motor vehicle tax
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana cabinet on Wednesday decided to exempt auto-rickshaws and taxis operating within the NCR as per contract carriage permit issued by the NCR states, other than Haryana, of the motor vehicle tax under the reciprocal common transport agreement of contract carriage.
No tax will be charged from such vehicles of other NCR states having contract carriage permits under the NCR reciprocal common transport agreement while entering and operating in Haryana.
Outstanding sportspersons not to be taken as officers
The Haryana cabinet replaced
the Haryana Outstanding Sportspersons (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2018 with the Haryana Outstanding Sportspersons (Group A, B & C) Service Rules, 2021 This means that outstanding sportspersons will no longer be accommodated as officers in the Haryana Civil Service (HCS)and Haryana Police Service
(HPS), mandated under the abolished 2018 Rules. The sportspersons of Haryana, who have qualified for the Olympic Games, will get Rs 5 lakh in advance as preparation money.
Pensionary benefit for HRDF employees
A proposal for an amendment under Section 6 of the Haryana Rural Development Act, 1986, to provide pensionary benefits to employees of the Haryana Rural Development Fund (HRDF) administration board.
Toll disapproved
The cabinet also gave nod for disapproval of toll at Ateli to Kheri road in Mohindergarh It gave nod to urban local bodies department’s proposal to transfer 48 bigha land of Narnaul municipal council to police.
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded 45 fresh coronavirus infections and one fatality in the Valley took the total cases to 1,25,052 and death toll to 1,945.
For the past 20 days, the UT has been consistently reporting below-100 daily cases during which the infections have not gone beyond a high of 94 on January 23 and low of 43 on Monday. Since May, the UT has not recorded such low daily cases.
Officials said that as many as six cases were reported from Jammu division and 39 from Kashmir. Moreover, 32 more patients have recovered, including five from Jammu and 27 from Kashmir.
31 nursing college students among 83 infected in Himachal
DHARAMSHALA: Thirty-one students of a private nursing college were among 83 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday in Himachal, taking the state’s tally to 58,076.
As many as 49 students of the college have been tested positive in three days. Last Sunday, 18 students were tested positive after which the college premise was closed. Kangra Chief Medical Officer Dr Gurdarshan Gupta said that the patients have been isolated as per protocol.
