Mukerjeas slap notice on filmmakers

-

KOLKATA: Seventy-two hours before the release of Dark Chocolate, a Bengali film inspired by the Sheena Bora murder case, the director and producer of the film have received a fresh legal notice from Peter and Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer to stall the screening.

However, producer Pradip Churiwal asserted that the film will be released all over the country on September 2. The film, directed by Agnidev Chatterjee, stars Mahima Chaudhry, Riya Sen, Sudip Mukherjee, Mumtaz Sorcar and Kaushik Sen, and will have both Bengali and Hindi release.

“Khimani & Associates, the advocates of Peter and Indrani Mukerjea, have issued legal notices to Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and us alleging misleading and illegal content. The content of the fresh notice sent by Peter Mukerjea’s lawyer is completely baseless and false,” said the producer.
