Cabinet approves Charkhi Dadri as state’s 22nd dist

The Haryana government on Tuesday approved the creation of Charkhi Dadri as 22nd district of the state, besides creating 10 new sub-divisions, as many tehsils and three subtehsils in the state.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet held here under the chairmansh­ip of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

While approving the creation of Charkhi Dadri district, the cabinet recommende­d that the adjoining villages not proposed to be included in the district so far might also be given an option to be part of the district, by giving a public notice of 30 days.

Briefing mediaperso­ns after the cabinet meeting, agricultur­e minister OP Dhankar said the proposals for upgrade of Ambala Cantt in Ambala district, Badhra in Bhiwani, Badkhal in Faridabad, Narnaund in Hisar, Badli in Jhajjar, Uchana in Jind, Gharaunda in Karnal, Radaur in Yamunanaga­r and Punhana in Mewat as sub-divisions were also approved.

Besides, the matter of creation of sub-division of Kalanwali in Sirsa was reviewed and recommende­d.

Approval was also given for upgrade of sub-tehsils namely Ambala Cantt in district Ambala, Badkhal in Faridabad, Bass in Hisar, Uchana and Alewa in Jind, Ladwa in Kurukshetr­a, Raipur Rani in Panchkula, Matlauda in Panipat and Kalanwali in district Sirsa as tehsils. Besides, Badli in Jhajjar district was recommende­d to be created as a new tehsil.

The cabinet also approved the creation of new sub-tehsils of Khijrabad in Yamunanaga­r district, Palhawas in Rewari and Kheri Jalab, Hisar.

NEW NOMENCLATU­RE

The cabinet also approved the proposals of the revenue department to change the name of Gurgaon district as Gurugram and that of Mewat district as Nuh.

MOTOR VEHICLE RULES

The cabinet approved the draft notificati­on to amend the Haryana Motor Vehicle Rules, 1993 so as to facilitate the vehicle owners of non-transport vehicles to replace on payment the registrati­on mark once granted to the vehicle owned by them.
