22-YEAR-OLD YOUTH SHOT DEAD IN HISAR

HISAR: Three unidentified assailants shot dead a 22-yearold youth at Petwar village in the district on Tuesday night. The deceased, identified as Pawan Kumar, was returning home on a motorcycle after visiting a temple when three bike-borne youth stopped him and shot at him. He died on the spot. The attackers fled the spot immediately thereafter.

Rajendra Singh, the victim’s brother, said a child, who was crossing the road when the incident took place, informed them about the matter. Pawan’s father Sewa Singh, who had retired from the Haryana Police, had died two years ago. The police sent the body of the deceased to the Hisar civil hospital for postmortem.

Investigation officer (IO) Vijay Kumar said, “We have registered a case of murder against unidentified assailants and started investigations.”
