Sirsa dist admn imposes `90,000 fine on 28 farmers for stubble burning

HISAR: The Sirsa administra­tion imposed `90,000 fine on 28 farmers in the district for burning stubble after harvesting their crop.

District revenue officer (DRO) Ami Chand Saini said, “We have formed a task force that is monitoring the fields in the district round the clock and tracking those farmers who are indulging in stubble burning.

“We have imposed an aggregate fine of `47,000 on 16 farmers of Sirsa block, `22,500 on six farmers of Dabwali block and `20,000 on six farmers of Ellenabad block,” Saini added.
