Irani, Gowda dropped from Inter-State Council

-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reconstituted the Inter-State Council on Wednesday, moving textiles minister Smriti Irani and statistics minister Sadananda Gowda out of the list of permanent invitees. They were notified as permanent invitees to the council last year when she was the education minister and Gowda the law minister. Both lost their portfolios in the cabinet reshuffle in early July. Senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar, who replaced Irani has been appointed to the council in her place.
