Apropos news report, ‘Retiring military officers abuse disability benefits’ (October 18). It is a malicious and unwarranted accusation by Lt Gen BK Chopra, Director General of Medical Service (Army), in his communication to the defence secretary. Diseases don’t come on the basis of rank of a person and disability certificates are granted as per the medical condition.
