FORGOTTEN MANIFESTO

Like any other political party, the BJP had unveiled its manifesto before the parliamentary elections, promising to bring down inflation, creating 2-crore jobs, rooting out corruption, implemening the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission report, etc. Now, Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh has admitted that ensuring 50% profit over the input cost to farmers is not feasible (HT, Oct 19).
