Vizag pitch awaits BCCI inspection

-

The pitch at Visakhapatnam has been technically objected to by the BCCI but the board is yet to send a team for inspection ahead of the fifth ODI to be held on Oct 29. An Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) official said despite reports that the BCCI might send someone to check the status of the pitch by Wednesday, they haven’t heard from the board. “The new pitch had to be tested before the ODI so the Assam-Rajasthan game was scheduled here. We have now been informed that the pitch has been reported,” said the ACA official. Visakhapatnam is scheduled to host the second Test against England from Nov 17. Asked when the BCCI might be expected to send a curator or a team to Vizag, the official said it could happen on Thursday or Friday: “But we haven’t received any communication in this regard.”
