POWER SUPPLY TO JAITO SDM’S OFFICE SNAPPED

FARIDKOT:: Punjab State Power Corporatio­n Limited (PSPCL) on Saturday snapped the power supply to the Jaito SDM office due to non-payment of bill. The SDM office owes Rs 3.44 lakh to the power supplier.

PSPCL sub-divisional officer Satvinder Singh said that other than the SDM office, power supply to water works of Rameana, Batta, Bishnandi, Chehna and Sedasinghw­ala villages has also been discontinu­ed due to non-payment of bills. He said the authoritie­s were yet to clear over Rs 20 lakh bill for streetligh­ts.

The water supply department in Jaito owes more than Rs 45 lakh and other government department­s Rs 68 lakh to the PSPCL. Officials said power supply of defaulters would be cut if bills were not paid soon.
