Dehradun reports first swine flu case this year

DEHRADUN: The first case of H1N1 (commonly called ‘swine flu’) in this year has been reported in Dehradun, chief medical officer (CMO) Dr YS Thapliyal said on Saturday.

The patient is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.

Dehradun has been put on an alert over the possible spread of swine flu.

Blood samples of seven people have been taken so far in the city, the CMO said, adding that the report of blood samples of two suspected cases were yet to be received.

Prevention involves implementation of respiratory hygiene, cough etiquette and hand hygiene.
