Humanoid robot in Udaipur to learn Hindi, Mewari
A French humanoid robot has come all the way from Paris to learn Hindi and Mewari languages in Udaipur for the first time.
The robot, Nao, which already knows 19 languages of the world, will learn the two Indian languages at Techno India NJR Engineering College, Udaipur. Once Nao learns to speak Hindi and Mewari, it will help programme more of its kind of robots in the languages, said the college authorities.
Talking to reporters, Nao said that it can sing a song, compose music with an orchestra, can drive a car and do online shopping.
“The fifth edition 58-cm humanoid robot is an advance version and can provide any information. Until now, 10,000 Nao robots have been sold to different parts of the world,” said RS Vyas, director, Techno India NJR Engineering College.
“With the help of internet, Nao can search sound patterns and answer questions taking assistance of Google and other special programmes,” he added.
The robot is equipped with seven artificial organs, four microphones and loudspeakers, thorough which it can converse with people.
“It will help students learn subjects like cloud computing, data analytics, internet of things and artificial intelligence,” said Vyas.
“The college management has joined hands with IBM and for this a new lab will soon be constructed under the programme,” he added.
Meanwhile, the college students are excited with the arrival of Nao. They said they were looking forward to learn “new things” from the little robot.
