Khattar increases HCS cadre strength from 212 to 300

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday announced to increase the cadre of Haryana Civil Services (HCS) to 300 from 212 at present.

Addressing the general body meeting of the HCS (executive) officers associatio­n in Panchkula, he also accorded approval for utilising the services of youth engaged under the Saksham Yuva Scheme at the help desks set up at sub-divisional level so as to assist the citizens.

He said that the state government was actively considerin­g the matter of providing the facility of home peon to the HCS officers.

said that it is the responsibi­lity of the officers to ensure the effective implementa­tion of various welfare schemes and programmes of the state government at the grass root level.

He said that though government employees work for eight hours a day, yet in democracy, the public representa­tives and the officers have to remain available for 24 hours.

While referring to the ambitious Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programme, Khattar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appreciate­d the state government’s efforts and the online teachers’ transfer policy of Haryana.Apart from this, even the Supreme Court has made a special mention about the state government’s decision regarding the selection of educated representa­tives in the Panchayati Raj Institutio­ns. He said that he has always advocated that educated public representa­tives should be elected to the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabhas and for this, he had also written a letter to the Prime Minister.

President of the associatio­n Yashpal Yadav gave presentati­on on different issues of the HCS officers. These included increase in the promotion quota of HCS to IAS from 33% to 40%, new grade pay of ₹10,000 on the completion of 18 years of service and regular training of HCS officers on the pattern of IAS officers.
