30YEAROLD GANGRAPED, TWO BOOKED

A 30-year-old married woman was gang-raped by two in Vehra village of Mehatpur town, on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. Accused kidnapped the mother of two before sexually assaulting her.

She was sleeping outside her one- room house while her ailing husband and children were sleeping on the other side of the house. “At midnight, they barged into my house,” said the victim.

The accused took the victim to a nearby field and raped her. She tried to shout for help but to no avail. On reaching home, she revealed informed her husband.

The victim’s husband has been bedridden since few months. Later, cops visited the house and took victim’s statement.

A case under Sections 376 (D) (gang rape) of the IPC has been registered against Jagdish Singh and Gurmeet Singh at Mehatpur police station. Sub-inspector (SI)Gurbinder Singh said manhunt against the accused has been launched.
