Peace Party chief held nearly 3 months after rape case

Former MLA and national president of the Peace Party Dr Mohd Ayub was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the alleged rape of a 22-year-old nursing student and her death due to wrong medicines. The police said he was arrested after crucial evidences were found in the case. Sources said Ayub was interrogated for over two hours at the office of circle officer (CO) Aliganj on Tuesday afternoon and then sent to jail. CO Aliganj Vivek Tripathi is the investigation officer of the case lodged at Madiaon police station on February 25, 2017.
