December 19: An Islamic State operative smashes a truck through a market in Berlin, killing 12 people. The truck's original driver is later found murdered

July 14: A Tunisian resident of France drives a truck on a sidewalk in Nice, France, killing 86 and injuring more than 400

March 22: Explosions tear through the departure hall of Brussels airport and a metro station, killing 32 people

November 13: Nine men affiliated to IS unleash explosives near the Stade de France stadium in Paris and open fire at bars and restaurants and the Bataclan concert hall, killing 130 people and wounding 350
