GURGAON: Members of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, Manesar on Tuesday said that they are not politically motivated and were not working to malign the image of former Congress government and leaders for monetary benefits.

Briefing the media in Gurgaon, the Samiti members said that some Congress leaders were alleging that the Manesar farmers were acting at the behest of the BJP to malign the Congress government’s image.

Om Prakash, former sarpanch Manesar, who is the main complainant in the case, said, “Congress leaders told the media that I do not have any land in my name. This is incorrect as I was one of the farmers who was forced to sell land to builders under the threat of land acquisition by government.”
