As fans wait with bated breath for another Indo-Pak clash, here's a list of some epic ODI encounters between the two teams in ICC events

World Cup 1992 INDIA WON BY 48 RUNS

This was the first time India and Pakistan clashed in an ICC event. India chose to bat after winning the toss, but set a modest target of 216. Despite a below-par total, Pakistan lost by 48 runs losing their last eight wickets for just 68 runs. The verbal duel between Kiran More and Javed Miandad made the low-scoring contest fiery.

World Cup 1996 INDIA WON BY 39 RUNS

India reached 287, thanks to Ajay Jadeja’s 22 runs off the final over by Waqar Younis and Navjot Sidhu’s 93 as opener in Bangalore. Pakistan were off to a rollicking start thanks to Aamer Sohail and Saeed Anwar. The script changed dramatical­ly once the openers departed.

World Cup 1999 INDIA WON BY 47 RUNS

Emotions among the fans were running high as the two teams clashed for the first time since the Kargil war. Out of the semifinal race, the win against Pakistan gave fans something to cheer about. India made 227 for six in 50 overs. Venkatesh Prasad made things difficult as he claimed 5/27 to restrict Pakistan to just 180.

Champions Trophy 2006 PAK WON BY 54 RUNS

Shoaib Malik’s 128 and Mohammad Yousuf’s 87 helped Pakistan post 302 for nine. In response, India could manage only 248 in 45 overs.

World Cup 2011 INDIA BEAT PAKISTAN BY 29 RUNS

The World Cup semifinal lived up to its top billing. India posted 260 for nine with Sachin Tendulkar top-scoring with 85 off 115 balls after being dropped four times and surviving two close leg-before chances. Pakistan were bowled out for 231.
