ROHTAK: The language used by Mewat deputy commissioner Maniram Sharma in his Facebook posts regarding open-defecation has earned him the ire of many on social media.

The DC posted a picture of the police arresting four men for open-defecation during checking at Salahedi and Samba villages.

The post accompanying the photo read: "Aaj inki akad dheeli karni thi aur tassali se

kar bhi di..(They needed to be taught a lesson, which we did). These people were using their power and approach to violate rules.” The DC went on to write: “Ek taraf kehte hain khule mein shoch karne walon ka na namaz kubool hota hai na roza..aur dusri taraf ramzan mein ye harkat..(they say God doesn’t accept Namaz and Roza of those who defecate in open..and these people are doing this during Ramzan.”

In the comments section, many people asked Sharma from where he learnt about the things he mentioned about Namaz and Roza, and told him the type language he used did not suit an IAS officer.

However, in another post, the DC clarified that those who were raising concern over his language did not know him well. “Eight out of 10 words I use in a sentence are abuses..and I love my language...You should go and complain to the UPSC, who selected me not just once, but thrice,” he wrote.

When HT contacted Sharma over phone and asked him about his controversial Facebook posts, he disconnected the call.
