Action initiated against 22 officials

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government said on Wednesday that strict action against those involved in the Amritsar foodgrain distributi­on scam involving diversion of wheat worth ₹10 crore has been initiated.

Health minister Brahm Mohindra, speaking on behalf of chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, gave the assurance on a call attention notice by MLA Bikram Singh Pahara. “Disciplina­ry proceeding­s have already been initiated against 22 officials found guilty of misappropr­iation so far. Anyone found involved will not be spared.”
