-

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday got two more additional judges. HC registrar general Gurvinder Singh Gill and Raj Shekhar Attri were notified as additional judges. Gill was working as registrar general for over three years now and Attri was posted as district and sessions judge, Jalandhar. With these two appointments, the number of judges at the HC has gone up to 48, against the sanctioned strength of 85.

The last appointment of an additional judge at high court was of justice Harminder Singh Madaan in December 2016. Their names were sent with eight more in June 2016, out of which justice Madaan’s name was cleared in December 2016. In December 2016, names of legal remembrancer and administrative secretary, Haryana (law and legislative department), Kuldip Jain; Faridabad district and sessions judge Inderjeet Mehta; and Panipat district and sessions judge Anil Kumar Singh Panwar’s names were cleared.
