IMPORTANCE OF BEING THE PRESIDENT
There is nothing wrong with the prospective candidature of Ram Nath Kovind as the next president of India. He compares more favourably with many of the previous incumbents. If elected, he might prove to be better than some of his counterparts. What is upsetting is the low standard of political ethics and morality. Though the general impression is that President’s post is insignificant, it is not exactly so, and he still remains the supreme commander of the defence forces. Samaresh Kumar Goswami, via mail
