The Romanian Prime Minister and his government have been ousted in a no-confidence vote

The governing Social Democratic Party (PSD) filed the motion to oust Grindeanu, saying that he had failed to implement the party’s political agenda. A total of 241 lawmakers approved the motion on Wednesday, more than the 233 votes required

2 Grindeanu had refused to resign and rejects the assessment of his performanc­e. He claimed powerful party leader Liviu Dragnea wants to remove him to have a party loyalist as premier 3 Dragnea was barred from running for premier because of a voter fraud conviction and is currently on trial for alleged abuse of power, a charge he denies.
