GST NOTIFICATION: CABINET DELEGATES POWERS TO CM
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana cabinet granted delegation of powers of the cabinet to the chief minister with regard to approval of rules and notifications to be issued under the Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, will come into force on July 1.
The cabinet approved notification of certain provisions of Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, and Composition and Registration Rules under the Act . A draft notification, which has been approved by the GST Council for bringing in force certain sections of Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act, was also approved.
The government will appoint excise and taxation commissioner as the commissioner of state tax for carrying out the purpose of Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. There will also be special commissioners of state tax, additional commissioners of state tax, joint commissioners of state tax, assistant commissioners of state tax, excise and taxation officers of state tax and assistant excise and taxation officers of state tax to carry out the purpose of Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act. The government will appoint taxation inspectors to assist the commissioner. The process of migration of existing tax payers, registered under Haryana VAT Act, 2003, Services Tax, Central Excise or any other tax being subsumed in GST is on.
TAORU NOW A SUB-DIVISION
The cabinet upgraded Nuh’s Taoru tehsil as a sub-division. It decided to shift eight villages from Narwana tehsil to Uchana tehsil in Jind district. The cabinet also gave ex-post facto approval to appointment of Anil Kumar Gupta, chief engineer (retd), as advisor in irrigation department from February 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018
