The arrest came after seven months of intensive search operations by the Gurgaon police.

In November last year, the second unit of crime branch of Sector 17 received information that the members of a gang, Shakti aka Sharda and Karn aka Kimmi, along with their friend, will be travelling in a Baleno car from Najafgarh to Dhanwapur in Gurgaon. The police barricaded the road and arrested the two and their friend Gaurav.

The police had then recovered two pistols and cartridges from them.

During their questioning, Shakti had told the police that the gang’s arms and ammunitions were kept with Sunil, who was arrested on Monday.

Sunil has told the police that Shakti was the sharpshooter. He also has revealed the name of another person, who is a friend of Shakti and is in possession of one of Shakti’s 9 mm carbon automatic rifles.
