ASI held while accepting ₹10,000 bribe in Moga

A team from the vigilance department arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Harjit Singh while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 to ensure bail in an attempt to murder case. The complaint was filed by Navjeet Singh, a resident of Moga.The ASI is posted at the Moga city police station. Palwinder Singh, deputy superintendent of police (vigilance) said after receiving the complaint, they laid a trap and caught the ASI red-handed. A case has been registered at the vigilance police station under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
