One PCS, seven IAS officers transferre­d

The Punjab government on Thursday transferre­d seven Indian Administra­tive Service (IAS) and one Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officer with immediate effect.

Rakesh Kumar Verma has been posted as secretary, industries and commerce, and in addition as secretary, informatio­n technology whereas Sumer Singh Gurjar has been posted as commission­er, Faridkot division, and in addition as secretary, Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

Sirra Karuna Raju will now be secretary, revenue and rehabilita­tion, whereas Rahul Tewari has been posted as secretary, home affairs, justice and jails. Daljit Singh Mangat will now be special secretary, planning.

In a partial modificati­on of orders, Satish Chandra has been posted as additional chief secretary, local government and in addition as principal resident commission­er, Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi. MP Singh has been posted as additional chief secretary-cum-financial commission­er, developmen­t.

PCS officer Raman Kumar Kochhar, will be assistant commission­er (general), Gurdaspur.
