-

A local court here has sentenced 18 Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists, including Abu Faisal to three years jail term for shouting anti-Modi and pro-Taliban slogans inside the court premises in May 2014. On May 7, the SIMI activists had been produced for hearing at the CJM and ADJ court and were being taken back to prison when they started raising slogans after seeing a group of media persons. They shouted “Taliban zindabad”, Pakistan Zindabad, “Ab Modi ki baari hai” and other anti-India slogans. They had shouted the slogans at the entrance of the courtroom, and the police somehow managed to push them inside the waiting van.
