Those who know nothing about army are making comments: VK Singh

SHIMLA Minister of state for external affairs VK Singh on Sunday said those who know nothing about army make unnecessar­y comments.

“We should just ignore it,” he said, on being asked about recent comment of Samajvadi party leader Azam Khan on the army.

An FIR was registered against senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in his home district Rampur for promoting enmity with his recent statement suggesting sexual harassment of common people by soldiers in various parts of the country.

RELEASE OF MAP BY CHINA

The former army chief was in Shimla to address a gathering on Charted Accountant Day on Saturday late evening. Singh also spoke on the release of map by China that territoria­l claim on Indian part by China is not new.

“They have been releasing such maps since 1950 and it should not be given any importance,” he said, adding, “We should know what we are”.

“They (China) will keep saying this it doesn’t mean anything. Tomorrow you could put roundel on United States does it means anything,” he added.

NEW TAX REGIME

Talking about the GST Singh said it is Good and simple tax, common man will not suffer from GST. “Many things will get cheaper and the simplifica­tion of tax will benefit scores of people,” he added.

He also exhorted the chartered accountant community to aware people about tax reform.
